About the workshop: The application of ICT and networked devices in agriculture can significantly improve the efficiency of land use and increase the quantity and quality of agricultural yields while reducing the negative impact of climate change on crop yields of strategic importance for the Republic of Croatia. The aim of the workshop is to present relevant research and technologies in the field of smart agriculture that are applied globally, to describe the current situation at the local/national level, to detect important problems and challenges and to propose adequate solutions. Also, the plan and preliminary results of the IoT-field research project that started in March 2020 will be presented.

About the IoT-field project: The aim of the IoT-field project is to encourage the application of IoT-solutions in agriculture in the Republic of Croatia through interdisciplinary research of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology (FERIT) and Agricultural Institute Osijek (PIO) to reduce the impact of climate change on crop yields of strategic importance for the Republic of Croatia by using advanced IoT technologies and available sources of data on the state of crops and the environment. The project started in March 2020 and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the call Investing in Science and Innovation.
